Finally we had our Bali trip on 13 Feb 2009 to 17 Feb 2009. We were initially supposed to go on 1st Feb til 5th Feb to celebrate my birthday there, but Husband couldn't get leave for those dates.

We couldn't decide where to stay at, Hard Rock Hotel & the superb pool being a "childhood" dream of mine, coz when I went there in 2000, I wanted to stay there, but my parents wanted Grand Hyatt then. So I kindof insisted on HRH while planning for this trip, but Husband wanted to stay at this wonderful new hotel -
O-ce-n OutriggerSo we divided our 4 night stay into 2 hotels.
Stayed at O-ce-n Bali by Outrigger for the first 2 nights - a hotel that is trulytrulytruly gorgeous and worth every single cent, and we were really in awe when we checked in. I jumped around taking pictures with our (rented *haha* - more on this later) DSLR, while Maj checked out every single thing and going "WAH! This is cool!" and Hyder babbles his way around the room.

There was a fishtank outside the room for Hyder's amusement lah.
Gawd, I miss Ocen. I MISS OCEN. We both want to go back there ASAP and stay at Ocen again, and again, and again. In the plane on the way back we were making jokes, "Don't be surprised if tomorrow you wake up and I'm not there. I'm on the way back to Bali to stay at Ocen ok."

Hard Rock Hotel was ok-ish. We requested for a room change after 1 night, we wanted a pool access room - which means our door opens right up to the pool that only deluxe room users can use.
To our amazement and confusion and all that, the room floors for BOTH rooms were constantly wet. Like dewy wet. WTH kan!
The pool was fun though, Hyder LOVES the slides... but he would only ride on it with Baba. I tried carrying him to ride the slide, and he cried! Like, WAILED. He doesn't trust me in the water! How funky is that!

Mazreen did bungee-jumping at
AJ Hackett Legian, which was really admirable. He was kindof nervous before that though, I had to talk to him abit to calm him down, but now,
NOW, he's kindof addicted and wants to go Macau and KL and all sorts of funky places where AJ Hackett is based at, to do it again.
I did a massage at the HRH spa, in the cabana by the pool - totally cool, but the massage was just ok, normal standard ah, but she cheated me out of 10 mins. Bloody hell. I was in too much of a high then and didn't realise... I only realised when I called Mazreen in the room (he was supposed to wait for me at Starbucks at 4pm) and he said it's only 3.50pm! The massage was supposed to end at 4pm!

We did quite alot of shopping. Exceeded budget a little bit. Haha. Some of the clothes we bought can't even be worn in Singapore lah. Hahaha. Now we await the credit card bill with trepidation.

Our babyHyder was so adorable. He's such a surfer dude,
loves swimming, and wore his sunglasses with lots of style. Haha. At first he wanted my Guccis (sorry I love calling them Guccis, rather than shades. HAHA.) then he wanted Baba's sunglasses... so we bought for him his own pair, RP20,000 only. He LOVES them lah. Should have bought the moment we touched down at Ngurah Rai. Haha.
Oh he was very friendly to people in Bali too, with handshakes and waves and flying kisses. Somehow he loves entertaining people there. Haha.

We are super eager to go back to Bali again lah... will stay at O-ce-n all the way if/when we do go back there. It might be abit of a distance away from Kuta, but the hotel is gorgeous, GORGEOUS i tell you, and they've got backlanes and such to explore. What's there not to love?

Ok, about that DSLR. We rented a Canon 450D from a camera rental biz here, because we've been wanting to buy a DSLR actually but wanted to try out one first before buying. Plus Bali has great views right, so we thought DSLR can capture it better lah.

Turns out we are so wrong. Haha. That freaking thing is so freaking annoying, because it was so heavy and lugging it around, together with the crumpler bag containing Hyder's stuff and the stroller... gawd, it was just too much for us. So after 2 days, we dumped it in the hotel room and walked around without a camera. Haha.

Ooops sexy fat guy in the right of the picture.
And no, we aren't buying a DSLR anymore. Afterall Aisyah just bought one, while we were at Bali, so anything we shall look for her lah. Hehehehe.
ps - most of the pictures are of Mazreen and/or Hyder or the scenery. My pictures aren't called porn for no reason. Hahahaha. Sorry, inside joke. But no, I suddenly became shy.
ps part 2 - we have more pictures, like 956 total, but gawd it's annoying looking at them for hours trying to decide which one will most impress the world. haha. For abit more pictures, head over to my FB.Labels: Holidays
