Ramadhan Kareem!

So Ramadhan starts tomorrow, or rather tonight after maghrib, and with that, I want to wish all Muslims happy fasting! May Allah swt accept all our ibadah in this blessed month. Let's pray and ensure that our ibadah in this month is better than the ones before, and that by fasting & doing all our wajib & sunnah acts, we will get closer to Allah swt and Nabi Muhamad saw.

Before we begin fasting for this year's Ramadhan, I want to ask for forgiveness in case I have hurt your feelings thru this blog, or in real life, or whenever wherever. May all our sins be forgiven by Allah swt.

It is a great month, a noble season, a month in which hasanaat (rewards for good deeds) are multiplied and in which committing sayi’aat (bad deeds) is more serious than at other times. The gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are shut, and the sinners’ repentance to Allah is accepted. It is a month whose beginning is mercy, its middle is forgiveness and its end is redemption from the Fire.

So give thanks to Him for the season of goodness and blessing that He has bestowed upon you, and for the means of bounty and various kinds of great blessings for which He has singled you out. Make the most of this blessed time by filling it with acts of worship and forsaking haraam things, so that you may attain a good life in this world and happiness after death.

By taking stock, repenting and seeking forgiveness, this is how we should welcome Ramadaan. “The smart man is the one who takes stock of himself and strives to do that which will benefit him after death, and the helpless one is the one who follows his own whims and desires and engages in wishful thinking, (assuming that Allaah will forgive him regardless of what he does and that he does not need to strive to good deeds).”

from here

I want to add something here, which I got from watching yesterday's forum agama on tv. Let's puasa ibadah, NOT puasa adat.

Puasa adat is fasting but only hungry and thirsty. People around you fast, you also fast.

But ibadah, you remember to do your prayers (don't say terawih lah, but fardhu - 5 waktu) and such. No point we fast but we don't do prayers because prayers are most important.

So, with all this, I wish you all happy fasting, and may Allah swt guide us all and forgive our sins in this month.
