Got this article from TODAY papers yesterday.
Don't you love people who brag about how their little one was potty trained at 10 months, while your 2 yr old is still in diapers? I've never understood why there's so much competition among parents to rush their toddlers along when it comes to potty training.
But the pressure is very real, and almost all mothers feel it, even though it has nothing to do with intelligence or ability. Kids are just ready to do different things at different times.
The best approach to toilet training is to relax and let it happen naturally.
Dr Kevin Lehman suggest buying a little potty chair and putting it in the bathroom without saying a word to your toddler. Let them discover it on their own. Then let them decide when they want to use it.
Curiosity is bound to get the best of them, and when they do begin to learn, really praise them and tell them how big they are getting. Before long, they'll be out of diapers - and it will happen on their schedule, not ours.
I initially planned to start potty training Hyder end of this year - I've even booked one week leave just for that, haha.
But reading this article (which prompted more read-ups about potty training) made me think twice.. maybe we'll try this technique first.
I get really excited about his developments, it feels SO huge, every single thing that he does. Hahah. Like just now I talked to him on the phone, and I asked him, "Hyder, what are you doing?"
And he replied "Eeechy!" That means Busy btw.
My mom said he's re-arranging the tupperware containers with the kuehs on the table, bringing them over from the living room to the dining room. And then back again to the living room, hence the busy-ness. Haha.
He's down with flu at the moment. Last night we went to Simpang Bedok and he kept coughing and had snot and such, it was really sad. The cute thing was, each time he coughed, I would pat his chest or his back.
From then on, each time he coughed, he would pat himself. MACAM ORANG TUA! Hahahaha.
We are currently looking for new milk formula for him. Somehow he's not really into Gain IQ now.. i bought for him Pediasure, but he likes it cold, and only drinks half a bottle at times.
This milk thing can be a bit confusing. Haha.

My baby is 21 months old this month! HE'S GROWING UP SO DAMN FAST!!!
