Read this blog entry just now and I had to agree with it. My youngest sister took PSLE this year and she said Maths paper was really tough.

It's true how the education system here is getting really crappy, and I am sad to think that my son has to go through it. This exam papers thing is one thing, and there's also the teachers (my sister's teacher the other day gave a colouring exercise to the whole class to do?? She's in Pri 6! I told my mom to call the school principal to ask what's going on, haha)

I seriously wish we can get out of here, I don't want my son to have to study 24/7. Sure, we can always say "tak payah belajar lah kalau gitu!" Sure, and then what happens? Can you survive here in Singapore without certs? Even with a diploma, dah macam nak mati. Apa lagi WITHOUT any certs? You think your ministers will help? They don't even understand that HDB prices now getting too expensive. When Hyder reaches my age, don't be surprised if that tiny birdcage costs 1 million SGD ok. Now 5 room in Simei can get half a million already.

I don't know why I'm suddenly ranting about this actually, haha.

Ok actually it's because I don't want Hyder to go through the education system and fail, and then have it affect his self-esteem and such. Or worse, go through life having difficulties getting jobs and buying a house and such.

And I know what sort of person I am. I NAG at Haliza to study every single day before her PSLE, to bring books whenever we go out so she can study at any free time. I can see myself being like that with my child(ren) and I don't like that.

Having said all that, it's really difficult to get out of here I think. We don't have any skills that are really wanted (HAHA) and we don't have masters and such, and saddest of all, we don't have the $$$ to pay our way out. Haha. One of my friend's aunts gave up her citizenship and got all her CPF money, and set up a shop in Canada and moved there.

That's totally my dream life. Haha.

Or rather my No.2 dream life. No.1 dream life would be to travel travel travel. Like this guy.

ps - On the house front, reno will be completed perhaps tomorrow. Aircon already installed yesterday. They will be doing acid-washing today, and then they are putting on the flooring tomorrow, and then change doors.. and then we are done! Only left some touching up of painting, and oh paint toilets too.

Thankyou thankyou thankyou to those who helped us paint on Sunday! My dad, Asif, Shahrir, Abg Aim, and of course Husband lah. Haha. And my mom and Pag for helping, and my parents-inlaw and SIL Kak Lin and Hakim and Hafiz too!

Super exciting! Hehe :D
