We got another contractor to do up our alu-pole wardrobe, and last night he came over to fix it (in less than an hour! not bad ah!)

Husband found this guy online and so far he's very efficient ah. We confirmed our order last Wednesday, and by 8pm last night everything was done.

Ignore the different coloured walls. There's a dispute between us and the town council because of some water seepage thing, which is getting on our nerves like mad. It makes the walls (near the windows) wet, and has destroyed the skirting of our flooring now, so we are meeting the MP next week to see what can they do to make this problem go away ASAP.

This matter has went on for THREE FREAKING MONTHS, and it's still going on, with no end in sight, and GAWD it's SO SUPER ANNOYING. We need people who can actually work effectively and efficiently at the town council. Serious cakap tak bedek.

Grrr talking about this always makes me so worked up.

Anyway, our wardrobe is an open concept, and honestly I didn't really intend for it to be a "walk-in wardrobe" per se. It's just a segregation of space, if that makes any sense. Haha. Anyway we did it all up yesterday after the contractor left, and here is the end result.

I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Picture taken with the iphone and somehow the brightness of the light makes it seem a bit fuzzy, but seeing it "live" is just so much nicer and I was so in love with it. Hehe. The carpet is from Turkey, curtains from ikea, stool from barangbarang, light from LightCraft (go to the one near Arab Street, talk to Yadanar, she's so damn friendly and helpful!)

So one area of the house is done up. Tonight Insha'Allah we are going to find a sideboard for our living room, and HOPEFULLY A BOOKSHELF TOO.

Btw this is our kitchen. Still naked, as in the open racks are still not there yet, but for the time being it's still nice to me. It just needs a print or something to make it come out a bit.

And this above, is is our onion/potato rack. Haha. I wanted one where we could stack it on top of one another, and I wanted the racks to be round (coz you know, onions etc are round so it all goes together in my head) but OMG IT'S SO HARD TO FIND ROUND RACKS! So we got this, and we shall just put them side by side, and think of something soon. Haha. Wire-mesh bowls from carrefour, damn cheap, only $3.50 for the smallest, and $5.50 for the largest.

Hyder's room is also totally done up, thanks to my parents who had a shopping spree at ikea and bought tables and chairs and racks and carpet for his room. Hahaha.

Doing up a house is so much fun!

shida, u thought of putting open shelves instead of prints on your kitchen walls? i think itll be nice and suit the open conceptness of your wardrobe area even though its at two different areas. but u noe mcm in sync ah!

love it that you got your own place. must put pics when its all ready k?

i totally know what u mean, it has to be in sync, kalau tak otak mcm sakit gitu tengok kan?! hahahaha. extreme.

YUP I LOVE MY OWN HOUSE LAH. It's so much fun eh shak!!! i'll post up more pictures when it's ALL done. my aim is to finish doing up the house by end of this year. kalau tak menjadi, then by june next year. haha.
