We held our housewarming on 1st Jan 2010, together with Hyder's 2nd birthday party. We didn't tell anyone that we will do a cake-cutting thing for Hyder, because we didn't want people to bring 2 presents for one occasion.. a bit paiseh ah. Haha.

Turns out most people remembered it was Hyder's birthday on 1st Jan, and came carrying 2 gifts (or more!) for us!

Catered food arrived around 1pm. My mom came early to help out while Husband went for prayers. We initially ordered from Hjh Maimunah, but cancelled 4 days before 1st Jan after we realised that we will be charged an additional $100++ just for delivery, and setting up, and GST. I have never heard of a catering company that charges GST ah seriously, and it pissed me off like mad, especially when I had to liaise with a filipino lady instead of a normal malay girl. Hjh Maimunah pon dah canggih employ foreign talent!!!

This filipino didn't understand a lot of things, like how will the tahu telor be served, etc etc. It pissed me off, and when she couldn't give and take on the whole thing, I asked Mazreen howhow, and we found another caterer, and cancelled our order with Hjh Maimunah.



Our new caterer was much better (although not many varieties on the menu, but hey it's home-cooked, so who cares as long as it's nice) and she charged waaay cheaper than HM, and more food too! 2 types of drinks, fruits, epok-epok, bubur all thrown in. I found the food damn pedas ah. The ayam was nice but the rendang taste more like satay, but overall it was ok ah. I hope our guests found it ok too.

Anyway the event started around 3pm, our first guest was my BIL with his sons, and then more and more people, so around 5pm our house was FULL. Heheh I was overjoyed, I love seeing MY house full of people! Oh and lots of presents too, for us and for Hyder! Sayang sangat-sangat!!

I was glad to see my friends too, they came so late that I thought they weren't coming, bloody hell. Hahaha. They were the last to leave also (Asif&Esah don't count as they are there to help, HAHA) after a photoshoot in the house. (Go to my FB pictures to see them - tagged by Mazee!)

They left around 11ish, and then we cleaned up, and slept at 1.20am. SOOO penat but sooo happy that it all went well.

So.. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CAME!!! Lots of LOVELOVELOVE goes out to those who helped out, and lots of love to those who came, especially if you came bearing gifts! You didn't have to as your presence is more than enough!

We LOVE the gifts that we got! Seriously, I was thrilled to see every single one, and some are already in use in the house, and if you come over and see that it's not in use, please jgn sedih. We are the sort that spreads our usage of things. Not all of Hyder's toys are opened yet, they will opened in stages .. like you know some in April, some in whenever, so that he has new toys throughout the year. The housewarming presents for us will be dealt with the same way!

We hope that you had fun in our house, and we apologise if the food wasn't good enough, or if we weren't friendly enough, or if we didn't talk too much, because I was rushed off my feet and so was my husband, and was so the birthday boy, haha.

AND, here's an open invite to come anytime you want! We love having guests in the house, cakap tak bedek, so please just give us a call and we'll be home welcoming you with open arms! And food too, if finances permit. Hahahaha.
