M.
The other day in the car, on a random drive to bring Hyder to looksee aeroplanes (his ultimate hobby! haha), we heard the song Teman Sejati by Brothers on radio. I've heard this song million of times before, but never thought much of it.
Husband asked me, you dah jumpa teman sejati you?
I was a bit surprised by that super-random question. Hmm and hmmmm a bit more, and asked him back. He said yeah, he has found his.
My first thought was that it was Ustaz Zaki, coz I know how much Husband looks up to him. He said no it wasn't, that's his teacher, not his teman. Haha. So I said the names of his friends from his class, and he said nope.
I wasn't being deliberately obtuse. I really didn't get it. Haha.
Ooooh turns out it's his wife! Hehehehehehe.
So I looked up the lyrics, and here it is -
Selama ini ku mencari-cari
Teman yang sejati
Buat menemani perjuangan suci
Bersyukur kini padaMu Illahi
Teman yang dicari selama ini
Telah kutemui
Dengannya di sisi perjuangan ini
Senang diharungi
Bertambah murni
Kasih Illahi
KepadaMu Allah, ku panjatkan doa
Agar berkekalan kasih sayang kita
Kepadamu teman
Ku pohon sokongan, pengorbanan dan pengertian
Telah kuungkapkan segala-galanya...
KepadaMu Allah, ku pohon restu
Agar kita kekal bersatu
Kepadamu teman, teruskan perjuangan
Pengorbanan dan kesetiaan
Telah kuungkapkan segala-galanya
Itulah tandanya kejujuran kita
I've lots to say about my husband, but the words aren't forming well today.
Simply put, right now, as I think about my husband, I feel as if my heart might burst, because I've never felt so proud of him. Yes, it's a small thing - him going to KL with Hj Zaki and his friends from the class, for a haul at masjid negara.
But for me, it's so huge. He has changed for the better, so much, in the past year.

I got him to pose before he left this morning. Haha. Both got up early, ironed clothes, he ate breakfast, prayed together, he got ready, and then off he went.

When our ustazah ngaji asked me to do sujud syukur because I have a husband like him, I balked at first. Haha.
But actually, yes I am thankful he's my husband.
For Mother's Day he did a simple surprise - got me a card which he got Hyder to hand over to me, with a simple note saying I have to return a pen to Cards n' Such. When I returned the pen, the staff came from behind the counter, wished me HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! and gave me a bag. Hahah. A bit embarassed ah, but my husband totally loves stuff like that, I think. During my birthday trip to the zoo, each time we met zoo staff, he would go "it's my wife's birthday!" and they would wish me happy birthday. Haha.
Anyway, opened the present soon after. He got me a pair of Clarks :D MUCH NEEDED PAIR OF SHOES.
And yesterday he walked all the way from masjid maqam to my work building, to fetch me after work, complete with white chocolate mocha FRAP, instead of ice cubes, coz frap is much colder.. ice cubes melt faster and therefore the white choc mocha won't taste as nice when I finally am done with work. And a stalk of red rose, my fave. Hehe.
Simple surprises that got me all happy.
