So we had a totally long weekend filled with not many activities. Planned to go KL at first, but couldn't find cheap coach tickets, and budget airlines were not selling budget-priced tickets at all, haha, so no go. Quite sad, because I feel for Carls Jnr, and Subway.
We were at Arab Street on Friday, took a cab to meet Husband there after his solat Jumaat, because we wanted to eat at Hjh Maimunah.
Turns out everyone in SG wanted to eat there too (haha, exaggerate a bit. But you know what I mean) So we went looking for other places to eat at, but all the nasi padang places were full! Or no more food! Zamzam was out because we had it for 2 days in a row.
Lesson of the day - don't eat at Arab Street on a Friday afternoon.
Went to Baby Zahin's first birthday party at Aloha after that, and after the party, went grocery shopping, and then cabbed home.
Saturday, we slept in, and went out only at 5pm to KKH, and then to Earle Swensens at T3.
And now we shall talk about one of the things I like most. Food. Haha.
Earle sells spaghetti in this HUGE pan, that's enough for 3 people. And hohmahgawd it was DELICIOUS. Like, seriously, one of the best pastas I've ever eaten. It was seafood something-something lah, can't remember the exact name, but it had 2 large crayfish, prawns, fish, and mussels (but we changed the mussels to more fish because we don't eat mussels)
Even Hyder liked it! Shared it with him, Husband and also my dad. That huge pan was enough for 3 adults and a toddler!
And only $29.90! More value for money if you compare to normal Swensens, which charges about $16.90 for a normal size plate of crayfish pasta.
But, service at Swensens T2 is FAR superior to T3. Goodness, the service at T3 was horrendous, staff were super unfriendly, service was slow. Maybe because they were terribly understaffed, but STILL!
However, it was still good as we got 10% discount because my dad loves to befriend the managers there, haha.
Went for a colleague's wedding on Sunday. So cool lah now pelamin got bubbles and such tau. In my day (HAHAHAHA, spoken like a true makcik2 dah tua, padahal kawin baru 3 tahun lalu. Or was it 4?) the in thing were feathers and those tiny mirror strands you hang as the backdrop. (Both of which were NOT in my decor at all, haha.)
Bought a new iron on Sunday too, at Courts sale. Banyak punya stripped down sale... there weren't that much difference in the prices between Courts and Harvey Norman lor.
Now, I've never used a steam iron before. My mom used to say it would be so easy to get electrocuted, so we've always stuck to normal dry iron.
However, the other day Husband talked to the salesman and etc etc etc, we ended up as the proud owner of
this.

Ok, actually tak perlu lah nak kata proud owner semua, coz baru iron, bukannya rumah ke apa. Haha.
But hoh, it made me so happy! I love it! It
glides! The steam made it so easy to iron out the wrinkles! I didn't even have to use starch for Husband's work clothes! EVERYONE SHOULD GET A STEAM IRON NOW!
Ok maybe everyone already has one, and I'm the only one yang very lambat setapak, in which case you should all welcome me to your happy world of fuss-free ironing!

On a totally unrelated note, wow Israel really upstaged itself this time round. To raid an aid ship?! AN AID SHIP?? Cruelty that's reallyreally ... wow. Words fail to describe how saddening this situation is.
"Al-Jazeera correspondent onboard the ship said the Israeli soldiers continued shooting even though a white flag of surrender had been raised."(Look thru my twitter for links to this flotilla tragedy)
I love the word flotilla.
they are the worst people on earth. heartless and brainless.
may Allah curse them and throw them to the deepest of the hellfire.
