25.
Super bored, seriously. Husband is out of office for the moment, and it's still an hour away to our lunch date at Hjh M.
I saw this at another blog, and .. I might have done this at my previous blog, but it's ok, I shall do it again now. Pictures from camera are still in the camera and not transferred to my PC, so that's why I shan't blog about Hari Raya yet, haha.
I am supposed to write 25 random things about myself and at the end of it tag 25 people. I don't think 5 people read this blog, let alone 25 HAHA. So I won't tag anyone, and anyone can read this and do this on their blogs or FB or whatever. Tell me if you did this too, and I'll go read your list.
So here it goes…
1. I recently discovered I like cooking. Heh. It's still hit and miss now, sometimes sedap, sometimes not, but I like the process of cutting meat, of adding salt and sugar and whatever.
2. I use instant for lauk-pauk that I cook at home. Ayam masak merah, rendang, etc. Hehehe. However, I do add in stuff sometimes, when I'm feeling rajin.
3. I have not learnt how to live with the kerak nasi. You know when you cook rice and the bottoms are all hard? I HATE THAT, and I don't know what to do each time I see that. I feel like SUCH a failure coz how come it doesn't even form nicely like the ones at my mom's place?? Nasib baik we don't cook rice often at home.
4. I LOVE interior design stuff. I can spend hours looking at interior design sites. My ultimate favourite is white interiors with bright furnishings and bookshelves BOOKSHELVES!! lining one wall.

5. However due to financial constraints, I have not been able to achieve the look I love so much in my own house.
6. I still have not found the white bookshelf that I want so badly. Ikea sells them but not strong lah. Tak sampai hati nak paint a random bookshelf from scanteak / picket&rail white.
7. Still have not found any nice prints for the toilets too, but it's ok. Maybe I'll find some in time for next year's eid. Hahah.
8. I like wearing jubahs, even though people tell me I look too kakak-kakak in them.
9. I hate watching Suria. I don't understand why they refuse to show any Islam-themed shows (Forum Perdana style? Or hello, maybe just a crawler when it's azan time?) and instead show so much love for making cerita pasal budak2 remaja go clubbing and having premarital sex and drinking alcohol. Yes it's happening in real life — so? Must show on TV and make MORE people do that too?
10. When we watch TV at home, it's either Animal Channel, TLC (formerly Travel & Living - the name I prefer. TLC sounds like the girlgroup, heh) or Vasantham.
11. I shield Hyder's eyes away from funerals bawah block, or places of worship (other than masjid, obviously) I don't know why, but I remember my parents doing this to me when I was a kid — and cutely, my MIL told me she does it to Husband too when he was small. Haha.
12. I am fat, and getting fatter each day.
13. I pretend to worry about getting fat, but deep down inside I think fats are better than skins and bones. Haha.
14. However I wish these fats will evenly spread out, and not only camp out at my tummy and thighs and hips.
15. I am bad at saving money. I plan how to spend my bonus waaay before I get them. Husband on the other hand saves his bonus.
16. I want my son to grow up to be an alim ulama. (AMIN!) My
wish doa will be for him to go study under some Habib, Insha'Allah.
17. I snort when I laugh. If it's really funny, I start tearing up, and soon after I'll have tears down my cheeks. Laughing is a messy, noisy event for me.
18. I change my (monthly) contact lenses every 3 months. I wash them weekly.
19. I love watching movies, but lately I find that I get sleepy halfway through. Must be old age. Haha.
20. I don't eat vegetables, other than lettuce. I love caesar's salad with chicken whatever from Swensens.
21. I and Husband and Hyder eat at Zamzam approximately once a week. I LOVE the food there. Actually I've been loving the food there since I was a kid.
22. I have an inability to let go easily. When I come back from trips, I tend to reminisce nonstop for weeks. "Oh last week we were eating yummmmeh chicken at Mamu's boathouse!" On a sidenote, I hope Mamu, Ismail, MustaqaMustaqu are safe and ok, amidst all that craziness going on at Srinagar right now.
23. I want so much to have a strong iman 24/7, but mine goes up and down so often, and I despair whenever it plummets :( Thinking about Habib Mundzir's advice, that when that happens, you have to think of yourself in kubur, in darkness, alone .. only makes me more panicky, but unable to jolt myself into fighting to get a strong iman back again.
24. I plan holiday destinations according to the food they have there. Have been wanting to go Terengganu for the longest time to binge (Astargfirlah!) on kerepok lekor nonstop. Also to Batam for yummeh cheap pempek. To Indon for nasi padang. To Penang for char kway teow. To Bali for sotong bakar.
25. I have a million thoughts running through my head on any random moment, and I worry about every single thing — but you won't know unless it's really a bad day for me, because I'm so good at keeping everything in.
