Ramadhan 2010.

Shan't post anything about Hari Raya yet because pictures are still in the camera. Here blogging because this blog seems so dead — maybe because I'm always on Twitter instead, and Husband is always on FB.

So let's talk about the last few days of Ramadhan. I was on leave starting 8th Sept, but I didn't do much on that day. Parents fetched me around 5pm and we then fetched Aisyah and Husband from work, and we broke fast at Vivo Banquet, because my parents wanted to eat naan. Totally random, haha, but let me tell you naan at Vivo Banquet tastes totally like the ones at Delhi!

Maybe because the cook at Vivo Banquet is from Delhi (yep. my dad asked him).

I miss Delhi so much! Haha. My parents so semangat sent eid mubarak cards to Sajad (our tour guide at Delhi), Mamu (the boathouse owner), Ismail (the shikara owner) .. Have to admit it was a really nice thing to do, and my parents added in our names! Hehe.

So anyway, on wednesday after buka, my parents sent us to Masjid Ba'alwie. Met Adilah and her son there, and we did terawih together.

Honestly, it was the first time EVER in my life I did terawih with a friend. I've always either gone with my parents or Husband (then fiance), or alone when I was still single.

Terawih at Ba'alwie, especially on the last terawih for this year, felt .. poignant.

Saw an old lady there who looked exactly like my late grandmom. Ok, just thinking about it makes me tear up again, so you imagine how I felt when I saw her at the masjid. She sat one row behind me, on the other end, on a chair. With the same slight stoop, and chubby cheeks.

When I first turned around and saw her, she just arrived at the prayer hall and she looked at me and smiled. And then she went to take her seat.

At the end of the prayers, after salam-ing the people around me, I wanted to go over to her to salam her, but she wasn't there anymore. Passed Hyder to Husband so that he can get to salam Habib Hassan, and went to look around for the old lady but I couldn't find her at all.

Felt like crying then, but managed to hold it in :(

Took a cab to my parents' house after that to help ngayam (sp?) ketupat. Reached home around 12plus. The next morning, Husband went to market, and I cooked rendang, which we then sent over to my parents' house, and brought over some to my parents-inlaw's place for iftar.

Everyone thought it was nice, Alhamdulillah, but it was not compliments I was looking for, just barakah from people eating food I cooked for iftar.

Went to my parent's house again after that, used their car to take my baju kurung (yes my baju kurung was only ready on the night of hari raya! Tailor from JB hantar sampai Yishun, at 11pm.) and then we went with Aisyah and Asif to bazaar Geylang. Went back around 3am, slept around 4.30am, and then woke up at 6am for subuh prayers, and had a light breakfast with Husband before he went off to Masjid Sultan for solat aidilfitri. Hyder woke up at 9am, and then at 11am went to my parents house ...

.. eh I wasn't going to talk about Hari Raya, so we shall end this entry here first. Haha.

Very bersyukur for being able to do as much as I can during Ramadhan, and for having a great family. Very bersyukur also for a bit of extra rezeki so that I can cook for my loved ones. I'm glad my mom and mom-in-law approves, said it was nice — but it definitely was not a competition .. yg ikhlas dari hati mana boleh jadi competition? :P
