A few notes from the talk given by Al- Habib Kadhim Ja'far Muhammad al-Saqqaf, at Masjid Abdul Razak on 24th Oct 2010 (Sunday)

All notes written down in haste while listening, so it might be incomplete or a bit off. If there's any wrong info inside, please inform me and I'll correct it. It's in Malay and English coz I listen, I process it in my head and write it down asap, so that's why it's all jumbled up. Hehe, really sorry, but this is really just for our keepsake.


- Kunci mendapat kurnia Allah is to always zikir.

- Read Surah Al-Ikhlas sebelum masuk rumah. (Have heard before that by reading this, all syaitan that is following you will then run off and not enter your house.)

- Hamba-hamba yang macam tiang masjid (always goes to masjid) --> Malaikat will walk infront of him wherever he goes.

- Read doa (I didn't note down which doa .. anyone who knows?) before masuk pasar. When you read this doa, 1 million rahmat received, 1 million darjat dinaikkan, 1 million dosa dimaafkan.

- When you do wudhu, and then you read doa wudhu, all 8 doors of syurga will be opened for you.

- There's a door in syurga just for people who loves kids (those who love to give presents to kids, make kids happy, etc)

- First person to enter syurga will be Nabi Muhammad (saw)

- After that, he will invite women who took care of orphans to enter after him.

- Each time you come to masjid, Allah swt will set a place for you in syurga.

- There are only 2 things that are NOT good for you on earth and akhirat. ONLY these 2 things :

--> Kufur, it has no benefits for you at all dunia akhirat .. (unless you get hidayah from Allah. And then when you follow Islam, all your sins will be converted to good deeds.)

--> Something that menjauhkan you from Allah.. like when you go to a place that makes you far from Allah. Benda yang haram yang sengaja dibuat.

- Therefore, when anything else that is bad happens to you (other than these 2 things), you should say "Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah". The bala' akan menjadi nikmat. Sesungguhnya these "bad" stuff that happens to you have a meaning behind them.

- When something bad happens to you, in akhirat Allah will reward you. Even when it's only feeling of stress at work, Allah will still reward you. Kepenatan, kesedihan.... ini adalah kunci mendapatkan pahala. Say Inna Lillah wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'oon (“To Allah we belong and to Him is our return") and then minta doa that Allah will help you and reward you.

- Let's say you forget to say this when musibah hits you ... you can still read it when you suddenly remember. Even after you have recovered from that episode.

- When you lose something, Allah will always give you something better. Say doa of Umm Salamah (ra), and have patience.

Innalillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'oon
Allahumma jurnee fi musibatee
wakhluf lee khayrun minh

to Allah we belong, and to Him is our return
Oh Allah, recompense me for my affliction
And replace it with something better

Umm Salamah's husband passed away. She read the doa, and soon after Umar Al-Khattab masuk meminang. She declined, saying her husband is much better than Umar, and continued reading the doa. Abu Bakar as-Siddiq masuk meminang, but she declined again, saying her husband is much better than Abu Bakar, and continued reading the doa.

Soon after, Nabi saw sendiri masuk meminang, and she accepted, saying there's no man who can be better than Nabi saw.

- When you read this doa, you will be stronger (emotionally, etc) and get nearer to Allah swt.

I have to say, Habib Khadim is so friendly, and Hyder was very blessed, dapat salam Habib many times, and even took a picture together. Habib even smiled at me! Haha. That was cool.
