Legoland JB!

Kids nowadays are very easily influenced by their friends, and Hyder is no exception.  He and his friends have been talking about Legoland since forever, and been bugging us to bring him there, he wants to play this and that and this and that, and apparently "Shuaib even has the map of Legoland ok, Mummy!"

So the Husband and I took leave last week Thursday and we headed to Legoland in the morning.

(Actually Husband's company is having their family day at Legoland in Dec, all expenses paid, but we will be in KL on the date they are going... grr)

It was quite near to the checkpoint, if you drive thru Tuas, and they have all these banners and buntings and stuff along the way that only added to MY excitement lah.  Yes, my excitement, because Hyder was busy with the ipad and Husband was all "ok now do we exit here?  Oh no, next one... Is it here?  Eh no..."

Sufia was asleep.

We reached soon after, and I have to say, they were so good at building up the excitement, only for it to be damn deflated once we reached there.  The parking was HORRIBLE, and the carpark was so far from the main entrance!  You have to walk thru a mall, and there weren't any signs around to show us where to go.  It was really crappy, honestly.

However their mall made me feel mcm as if I was at Harbour Town at Gold Coast lah, coz open-air and all that... Haha.

Anyway!  We used the Readers Digest / Legoland vouchers , and also the zooland coupon, so Hyder entered free and I paid a discounted price.

Once we were inside, it was quite happening ah.  Haha.  Looked at the map and decided to go miniland first, those tiny towns are soooo cute lah.  There was water sprouting here and there and sounds and all that, it was so adorable!  Haha!

Then Hyder wanted to start playing rides, so Husband accompanied him.  I stayed with Sufia and the stroller and the bag.

First area of improvement for Legoland :
Have stroller bays.  Lotte themepark at Seoul had stroller bays / stations for us to 'park' our strollers while we play at each ride, and we had ease of mind knowing it was safe coz their staff would look after it at every station.

This was Hyder's favourite ride.  He first discovered this car-driving thingy at Movie World GC, and was looking forward to playing this at Legoland.

There wasn't really a lot of people at Legoland, maybe because we went on a Thursday, so queue for the rides were about 5 minutes max.

It was REALLY hot though, I had a headache around noon time.  I told the Husband maybe South East Asia shdn't have any theme parks because the weather is just not right for it, haha.

Second area of improvement for Legoland :
Install some of those huge mist-fans around the park lah so people can cool down.  It was SO freaking hot, seriously had a headache lah.

Hyder couldn't decide whether to put on a cap or not - when he didn't wear it, the sunlight hurt his eyes, but with the cap, he said he sweat too much, haha.

Husband wore a long-sleeve tee to Legoland.  I told him he must be crazy when we were at home getting ready to go, but turns out it was a smart choice.  He gets sun-burnt really easily, and I saw a couple of white men wearing long sleeve tees too... I guess these men with kulit putih dah tahu ways of protecting their skin from the sun already, haha.

As you can see in the pic above, Hyder was DRENCHED in sweat.  My kids really sweat a lot, but it was like sweat overdose when we were there lah, haha.

Sufia didn't have any rides to play lah, haha.  At GC she loved the carousel, but there weren't any carousels at legoland (guess its hard to make with legos hah!)

Sufia's hat dah kecik, haha.  Actually bought it when she was 3 months old.

Youngest driver EVERRR.  Haha.

The Husband has this thing where he can't play rides where it goes round and round nonstop.  He gets a headache and after that gets all cranky, so I had to play this with Hyder.  Every time there's a ride that goes round and round it's my turn to play, haha.  (I did get a headache after playing this also actually, but more so from the sun and also there were metal plates on that ride, and each time terkena masha'Allah punyalah sakit coz it's so panas, but that has  nothing to do with my headache, but you get what I mean...)

We had lunch at one of their cafes - 2 plates of spaghetti and a cup of Coke cost us RM45, very terkejut seminit.

Played other rides, and then we took a rest at one of their indoor stops, an area where you can build lego robots and machinery and whatever.  I played first with Hyder but he got upset with me coz I didn't build it exactly the picture asked us to, so Husband took over.

It's one of the few air-conditioned areas there, so there were a couple of people sleeping on the sofas, hahah.  Sufia slept in her stroller, and even I mcm want to sleep also.. hah!

It rained super heavily around 4plus, right around the time we wanted to leave, and there was super loud thunder and lightning so we took shelter in the shop.  Once the thunder/lightning has stopped, Husband bought an umbrella (RM70!!  Heart-pain!  Plain umbrella with the words Legoland Malaysia on it ajer!)  and we huddled under that one umbrella in the rain and walked to the mall, and had early dinner at BurgerKing, and then drove back home to SG.

Would we go again?  Maybe not so soon.  They gotta improve on a few stuff first, like I mentioned above, and maybe we will go when Sufia is a bit bigger and can enjoy the rides too, and we will come with full protection from the sun (ie: hats even for me and the husband, lots and lots and lots of iced water.. etc)

However I have to mention, their baby care rooms (nursing rooms, etc) is really good.  They provide a play area for kids while you breastfeed your baby, plenty of sofa, aircon, and also a wash-up area if you wanna wash your bottles, top up hot water.

Some of their staff are also very friendly.  Several stopped and asked me if I was ok with Sufia, when I stood under a sun fanning Sufia with penuh semangat, while the boys played on the rides. Some told us to have a great day (which we did! hooray!)

Now it's time to find a date to go USS.  I think we are the only S'poreans who STILL have not ventured there!  Haha!
