So the Husband reversed into a parking lot, and our car grazed the side of another car, and left some scratches and whatever. Honestly our car is in a bad state, there's LOTS of scratches and dents and all that, but I don't really care, I think of it as adding character to the car HAHA.
But the other car was quite new. And so the Husband felt bad, and left a note with his name and tel no.
And because my husband is a surveyor and has to deal with nittygritty details and reports of damaged goods daily, he took pictures, just in case. Hah!
Her car.
Ours. Think ours much worse than hers hor :(
(for the sake of honesty, I will state here that the picture of our car was darken a bit just to show clearer how many scratches we kena, haha)
The other driver, a woman (not lady, coz apparently she didn't talk like one when she called) shouted and scolded, and after she was done, my husband said to her, hello I could have just driven off, not leave my name and no... Then you would have to pay for everything yourself. So lets deal with this like adults, ok?
So she was like oh ya. Ok fine.
A few moments later, she called again, said the damage all cost $280 to be repaired.
The husband said he wanna speak to the mechanic. And the mechanic said got joint repair and actually the lights were damaged too etc etc. So my husband said I have pictures of what happened, where the lights got damaged..
And then dunno what happened.. Then mechanic said ok lights no need repair, so total $280. I told him to go another workshop, show the pictures and ask estimate how much it will cost to repair. He said he doesn't have the time, plus the woman said she needs her car urgently, if not she will leave the car there and ask that we pay for her transport.
What the hell sehhhh. I was so pissed off lah.
So anyway the husband said fine whatever, max he will pay is $280.
We are going to meet up and she will pass us the receipt and we will pass her the money. I am thinking of some snide remarks to make, do you think that will help? Hahah!
Anyway the Husband was quite depressed. So was I, honestly. I hate it when I get the feeling that people are stepping on us and there's not much we can do. I told the Husband I wanna be there when the mechanic does the work on the car, but he said it will take long, why waste my time. I'm just paranoid that she will repair like the whole car with that $280!
So I consoled myself by going to Typo and looking at pretty stuff. Bought wrappers for future birthday presents (3 for $10!), a pen ($1.95!), a bag, and 3 cards (3 for $10! One of which is to give Husband to hopefully cheer him up.)
I wanna talk about the bag. It was for $44.95, but it's on discount and it's only selling for $5 now!!!
I bought it, and I felt like I was walking on air as I walked out of the shop!!! Hahah!
Who needs branded goods when you can get a high from cheapo bags?!?! Hahaha!
// end excitement.
Coincidentally, one of the cards that I bought just now said "Excitement is like peeing on yourself. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warm feeling."
Hahahah!
So anyways. Goodbye to $280. That can be used for a staycation, or a mini-holiday, or toys, or derma! or whatever. But it's ok. THINK POSITIVE. To cheer the Husband up, I told him we should just be thankful it wasn't worse. At least he wasn't hurt. At least it wasn't like thousands of dollars.
At least at least at least. So yeah, Alhamdulillah.
// trying hard to ignore the sound of my heart breaking while waving goodbye (Miss Universe - style, like Sufia!) to $280.
