It all began with an sms from my sister, Aisyah around 11am on 27th April.
"Wanna go KL today?? Accommodation all paid for!"
I knew Asif, her boyfriend, was in KL for 2 weeks for a work trip, and I thought she's just spouting nonsense AS USUAL, haha.
Turns out she was being serious, she wants to surprise Asif, and our parents will only allow her to go, if she goes with us, so there she was pleading through sms and phonecalls ...
And she's so lucky her sister loves KL lah, haha. And so plans were made, we shall drive up once we were done with work (yes I occasionally have to work on Saturdays ((back when I was still working hoo hoo!)), and she has to work every Saturday actually)
My parents told us to drive up using their car, because we haven't sent ours for servicing yet haha. It's also more comfy lah actually, coz we had to put Sufia's carseat, and Hyder can sit in the last row (it's an MPV)
We set off at 3pm, but with the tiny-tiny details like withdrawing money, pumping petrol to 3/4 tank, etc etc ... we reached Tuas only at 4pm. Aisyah was telling us to hurryhurry because she's scared we will miss Asif in case we reach after dinner time. So she issued strict instructions no toilet or coffee breaks at all. Very kesian my husband because he loves the coffee along the highway stops, haha.
We reached our hotel, ParkRoyal Bt Bintang at around 7.30pm, and after check-in, we all went to the 7th floor and knocked on Asif's door. Shouted "surprise!!" but in hushed tones, imagine that in your head if you can, hahaha.
Before he can work out what was really happening, I told all of them to hurry up so I can be re-united with Pepper Lunch at Pavilion. My ultimate foodlove at KL, but that was before I met Tony Romas.
Hyder outside my mostest favouritest kids' clothes store.
Walked around Pavilion after we had dinner. Went to Okaidi Obaibi but no sale so mcm not worth it. Haha. I lurrrrrve the clothes at Okaidi Obaibi - they used to have a store at Raffles City but closed down soon after, I'm not sure why. I remember it being cheaper in SG also actually... grr.
I love going to their official website just to looksee their clothes, but it's in French so mcm tak faham sangat apa dia bebual actually. Hahah.

When Aisyah first said we were going to stay at ParkRoyal, I wasn't too keen actually. It's far from Pavilion (which is honestly my only point of interest whenever I go KL), plus I've never stayed there before, and it was such a sudden trip that I had no time to read reviews on TripAdvisor first. Haha. I am one of those people who read gazillions of reviews before I decide on anything, so to stay in a hotel without reading the reviews first was a bit nerve-wrecking HAHAHA.
But heyyy ParkRoyal was really gorgeous. The service was excellent! The moment we drove up to their hotel front, the bellboy and valet driver came over. Check-in was quite a breeze (but then it could be because we were the only ones arriving so late.. haha)
Our room was on the 8th floor, facing KELAB DE VEGAS. I must type that in all caps, because it's so cute how it's called KELAB instead of Club. Like as if it's catering to Malays or something, hahaha.
I remember about 10 years back when I went to KL with Farah and Maria, and we took a cab and the cab driver drove past this KELAB DE VEGAS and told us very excitedly "Dalam kelab ini ada perempuan bogel, you know! All dancing-dancing on stage!"
We were like okayyyyyyy uncle we didn't need to know that. Oh wait how do YOU know that, Uncle?? Hahahaha.
Anyhoos! We went to Pavilion again the next day. Shopped a bit, had lunch at Pepper Lunch again, haha. Sat at Starbucks while waiting for Asif and Aisyah's movie to end. Then we had lunch at Tony Romas, which I now proclaim my new favourite tempat makan Masha Allah punya lah sedapppppppp the lamb ribs.
The moment I tasted it, I was all ohhhhhhhh and I actually smacked my lips and I could taste the sauce or marinate or whatever you call it on my lips and it just set off another wave of ... foodgasm, I believe that's the right term.
I'm sad now thinking how it's not halal in SG actually.
Oh, and as an added bonus, ANUAR ZAIN SAT NEXT TO OUR TABLE!!!
We were all done eating actually, and then he walked in with 3 ladies, and he was smiling shyly at the floor (???) and I was nudging Husband under the table HEY LOOK IT'S ANUAR ZAIN!! So sexciting, I tell you!
Sadly he sat on the inner side, so I couldn't go up and ask for a picture. Hahaha. I told the Husband wouldn't it be crazy if I just go to his table and start singing Mungkin, with full of feelings, hahaha. Or worse, his lagu hari raya, hahahahahahaahahahah!!
Happeeeee!
Anyway. All good things must come to an end, and so our whirlwind KL trip ended soon after. Said our goodbyes to Asif, and then we drove back to SG. Reached home around 10pm, and felt SO tired we both agreed this 2d1n trip won't be happening anytime again soon, haha.
