Confusing life changes.

My daughter is currently sleeping with her legs hanging off the bed.

My son is in school and will be back in about 2 hours.  My husband is at work.

I have (kinda) made the decision to really leave my old company.  I discussed a few things with my husband, basically I told him I kinda feel mendak right now, because I'm not really learning anything, or doing anything good with my life.  I have worked there for 10 years and I don't really feel helpful to society, haha.

He asked me what are my plans.  I told him either take up some courses, study.. that kind of stuff.  And then when the kids are much bigger, maybe teenagers or something haha, I have relevant certs and can go back to work.

Yes, of course I can take up these courses if I'm working also lah, but I will have much lesser time to spend with my kids, which is the priority right now.

The only problem is that my interests feel SO diversified.  I want to take up courses in art stuff, like typography, art designs (ye-ye orh! hahahaha) or social work / counselling stuff.  Ok la, in words it doesn't feel that diversified, but I feel mcm it is lah.

Course funding is an issue especially if I'm not working.  I don't really feel like I layak to use any of his money to fund MY education, I would rather put it into my kids' education.  So I'm looking up grants and sponsorships and whatever, and hohmaygawd it is confusing!

Anddddd this is not even my Plan A.

Hoh well.

// lately my posts ending all very abrupt ah hahaha.

Growing up fun!

We had our jalan2 hari raya thingy last Thursday.  Kinda unplanned, or rather it was planned for Friday, but abruptly changed to Thursday but Alhamdulillah it went well, and was still as fun as when we first started out manymany years ago!

Mazee is such a good photokeeper, if there's such a word, because she managed to dig up oooold photos of us!  Ok lah not so old, only about 7 to 9 years ago, when we first started our jalan hari raya with boyfriends tagging along.  SO fun to see how we have grown, in family-size AND in body size HAHAHAHA.

Zizou (not real name, but ummm real life nick name, haha) has since been replaced with an emoticon since he's no longer with us.

How come Maria's husband is not inside ANY pic ah??

Next year Insha'Allah we will have at least one more addition - Maria is expecting and due to give birth in Oct, so next year more meriah Insha'Allah!

Replaced my face in the first pic with a very beautiful dusty pink rose because my face sungguh tak glam eh in that pic.

This is by far the nicest picture we have of all of us, I think!

Sigh, such fun lah.  It's so cute how there's 4 kids in the group now!  BUT we need more boys so ladies, please do your thanggggg.  Hahah!

// all pictures stolen from Mazee's IG!

Books!

1:17:00 AM . posted by noshidoshi

Books that I intend to buy sometime soon, if I can't find them in my new favourite hangout - the library, haha!

Sue Townsend - The Woman Who Went to Bed for a Year
John Green - Looking for Alaska

I recently bought Revenge Wears Prada, but it's not as good as The Devil wears Prada.  This sequel is abit too slow, and just so .. meh.

I borrowed 3 books from the library just now, and I just bought 2 books off bookdepository which are being shipped to me now as we speak.  In the midst of TRYING TO FIND TIME TO READ, I also have to teach Hyder how to read using his I Can Read screener and code card and all that,  and teach him iqra', and read his library books to him and his sister also, and do his Primary School introduction books... on top of the usual household chores.

Some of you might go heyyy I'm a housewife too, and yet I am not as busy as you make it sound, surely you are exaggerating.  Maybe, or maybe not.  Maybe I just have extremely bad time management (I do have that, I admit)  I also tend to have lazy days where I just mope around watching endless Nick Jnr with the kids beside me.

Maybe I'm just a super unmotivated person, haha.

SO JUDGE ME NOT and I won't judge u also.

Actually no lah I'm one of the least judgemental people I know, unless you do something that really pisses me off, then I tend to be all sarcastic and spiteful and just grrrrrr angry and refuse to budge sort of thing.  Sounds so juvenile, but argh I .. I just don't know how to VENT about this without giving away too much info and without sounding like a total youngster haha!

But I have to say, I'm not exactly a total bad parent of the year gitu tau.  The Husband and I always discuss about our kids, and I always tell him, I don't ask for much from my kids, I just want them to be good Muslims, with full of taqwa and iman, and as a bonus, please hafal Al-Quran (AMIN!)  so that the Husband and I have an express ticket to Jannah... amin amin amin!

But SG education system and stuff sometimes get in the way and that is why I put Hyder in I Can Read (and finding more supplementary classes to put him into also, hahah KIASU OR WHATTTT) coz I am just so scared he will be left behind.  Being a parent in SG is not easy!  ME NO LIKEY!

// abrupt end coz I suddenly realise it's 1.17AM and I'm suddenly sleepy.  Selamat malam semua.

Eid Mubarak!

A bit belated, but better late than never.  Selamat Hari Raya to all my Muslim brothers and sisters, and maaf zahir batin!

It's time for the garbled mintak-maaf speech (Selamat Hari Raya, maaf zahir batin, halalkan kalau terkasar bahasa, tersinggung perasaan, maafkan, makan minum....errr...) the awkward salam rejections (to people who aren't muhrim), the giving out green packets, finding colour-coordinated outfits for the whole family, and basically mengeratkan silaturrahim!

I wanted to lose lots of weight in time for hari raya so that no one would ask me if I'm pregnant...

... but I didn't manage to do so.  Hahahaha.  But heyyyy no one asked me that question - I think everyone finally accepted that I'm just fat and happy, haha.

My parents weren't in SG during the first 2 days of Eid.  Alhamdulillah they went for umrah akhir Ramadhan, so this is my first time everrrrr cooking a full meal for Hari Raya, and hooooh boyyyy was I stressed or what!!

Alhamdulillah I managed to cook lodeh (instant), rendang daging (instant) and ayam sambal (not instant, and taste oh so good!)  Husband cooked ketupat the old fashioned way, with arang and all, based on my father's instructions, and Alhamdulillah menjadi jugak.  In the midst of all this ,we also painted that green wall to white, and changed curtains and sofa covers.  Husband had taken 3 days leave from work and as we all know, I'm now a housewife, so that's why macam rajin sikit.

It was tiring like mad though.  We had about 6 hours of sleep total, in 3 days... so yeah.  I celebrated hari raya with eyebags, not handbag, HA. HA.

Sooooo ok lah.  Selamat Hari Raya again, may all our ibadah in Ramadhan be accepted by Allah swt, and may we meet the next one Insha Allah.

Parents' Umrah Trip 2013!

5:00:00 PM . posted by noshidoshi

Sent my parents off for their Umrah akhir Ramadhan.  Veryvery happy for them, but oh I so wish we are going too.  Rindu sangat with Makkah and Madinah, and I want so much for my kids to visit these holy places too.

Hyder cried buckets, he wanted to go with his Nenek and Dada so badly.  (Sufia is too young to understand, so she was really oblivious, haha)

This boy takes goodbyes veryvery badly, and seeing him cry made my heart break into pieces.  Padahal baru berapa hari nya trip ok, not yet haj tau!

My aunt also went with them, and they will be back on the 3rd day of Syawal Insha Allah.

Please make doa for my parents and aunt, may they have umrah yg mabrur and may Allah swt make their journey smooth and easy.  Amin!

SAHM.

Got this off Postsecret

I admit I am kinda lazy, sometimes I wake up at 1030, just in time to fetch Hyder, and then I cook instant spaghetti for the kids' lunch, and don't do any chores for the rest of the day.

Other times though I am so semangat and don't sleep from subuh right up til 12am, coz I'd be busy vacuuming, washing clothes BY HAND (you know, those clothes yg cannot machine wash), mopping, cooking, teaching Hyder, and lots of other stuff.

Yesterday my manager asked me if I'm coming back to work.  I said I still haven't think properly about it, coz I'm having fun at home.

And then I checked my bank account, and I'm left with not much money, hahaha.  I can't forever spend my husband's money right?  This dilemma is getting repetitive seh.

HOHWELL.

... Now I'm wondering if most people think that SAHMs are lazy.  Haha.

Lazy Mode!
Friday, July 19, 2013
3:10:00 PM . posted by noshidoshi

I should really start on household chores right now, like sweeping and ironing clothes and mopping the kitchen floor, and vacuuming if I'm extra rajin, and folding clothes....

But I've been feeling so lazy lately, and the house is in a mess and I feel kinda bad actually, but wow the laziness mode is on full blast!  Right now the kids are having the afternoon nap, so I should probably get started on the chores, but noooo I'm online reading blogs and articles and stuff.  [Sorry, suami tersayang :( ]

This only happens once a week though - me getting online - so I usually cut myself some slack, hahah.

Next week onwards my cousin will be sending her kids here while her maid balik kampong for a while coz of sick mom, and I expect more kekecohan coz I will be handling 4 kids under the age of 6 under one roof, but I'm quite excited actually.  Hahah.  Hyder and Sufia will be very happy to have their (second) cousins here.

Pic above is of the sunset at Penang.  Quite nice ah, masha Allah.  Rinduuuu sangat holidays.  Heh heh.

Ok that's all for now.  Sesungguhnya this is a post yg sungguh tak perlu.

BACK TO CHORES.

3 Penang Pics. Heh heh.

Husband made a deal with Hyder - if Hyder manages to fast 30 days, we will bring him on a trip end of this year.

When he didn't fast on the 3rd day, Husband reminded him of the deal.

Hyder's response - "No Baba we can still go holiday, because you and Mummy still puasa what, so must still go!"  (Kononnya we should still go holiday as a reward to ourselves ah.)

Pandai sekali!

Honestly I don't really mind though.  I miss going on trips.  I don't even need to go far (actually going far is more of a hassle - I'm not even talking financially coz everyone knows it is a hassle financially, you gotta save up lots of moolah and all that... - I meant it as a hassle coz sitting in a plane with 2 kecoh kids is really not an enjoyable thing to do, haha.  HOWEVER if my husband tells me he wanna bring me to Korea, I really don't mind.  Heh heh)

I have not uploaded the Penang trip pics, I haven't found time to do that, so here's some.  Or rather, here's 3.  Hah.

At the lift lobby.  Thought it was a nice picture except that the kids aren't smiling and my hands look like they don't belong to me hahaha.

Family pic.  I've stated before on Instagram that it's SOOO hard to get a nice family picture - here's a good example, haha.

This was at the 2nd floor lift lobby - we upgraded our room and therefore had to change floors.

Apasal gambar semua kat lift lobby eh, that's because we didn't really venture out of our hotel that much.  Coz, seriously, Hard Rock Hotel Penang was soooo much fun (and Penang itself is quite boring, haha)

Hoh well.  We might be going to KL end of this year to support my sister Haliza in her bowling tournaments again .. I'm trying to psycho the Husband to go an additional place, I haven't thought where yet, but hopefully menjadi Insha Allah!

I should really buy a house in KL hahahaha.  I already told the Husband after we get CPF money let's move to KL and stay there til we die.  But he's like alah kesian anak-anak kita kat SG, and I'm like noooo by then they will be adults already what!

WHO'S THE EMO PARENT NOW?!

"I told Teacher Siti I kena balik cepat today, because buka is at 7." - Hyder told me this when he alighted from the school van just now.

Mind u, his school hours are at 8am til 11am only. Balik cepat nak buat apa eh kat rumah? Hahah.

Happy fasting, you all.  May this Ramadhan be better than the past Ramadhans, and may all our ibadah be accepted by Allah swt!  Amin!
